Deputies send the amendment extending the powers of SAO to committees

After several months of delay, the amendment to the Supreme Audit Office Act has picked up unexpected speed.

On 7 October, deputies discussed the amendment to the Supreme Audit Office Act prepared by the Minister for Legislation Dientsbier, which shall complement the constitutional amendment waiting in the Senate for over a year. The draft more or less fulfils the recommendations by Reconstruction of the State; yet, we do have a few remarks which you may find in the position paper here (only available in Czech).

After a heated discussion, the deputies sent the draft off to the committees. The first one to discuss it will be the Committee on Budgetary Control on 15 October. We’ll be there.
